Grace United Methodist Church’s choir is open to individuals high school age and older. The ability to read music is helpful, but not a prerequisite to joining the choir.

The choir rehearses at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the church chapel. The choir traditionally meets the week following Labor Day through Memorial Day. The choir takes a break during the summer months.

During the choir season, the ensemble performs at the 9 a.m. Sunday services. Prior to the service, choir members gather at 8:40 a.m. in the basement to warm up before moving to the sanctuary. Choir members may sit with their families during the service and then come forward when the choir sings.

Grace United Methodist Church’s choir members enjoy performing varied styles of music. They sing traditional choral pieces, contemporary arrangements, spirituals, and more.

“Our goal is for our music to be an offering of our musical gifts. We pray they will be multiplied and used to bless those in worship and ultimately be a ‘Sweet Aroma of Praise’ to God as we share each week,” said choir director Becky Daniels.

No auditions are required and new members may join at any time. “If you’d like to give choir a try, we would love to have you join us. There are several music folders prepared and ready for new friends each week,” said Becky Daniels.
